Mangaluru, Dec 14: MLA U T Khader said, “People will stand with Congress and vote against BJP government in the upcoming gram panchayat elections.”
Addressing media here on Monday December 14, U T Khader said, “People are fed up with BJP government. Voters will support Congress. After BJP came to power, ration cards have not been distributed, houses have not been sanctioned, there is confusion over reopening schools and colleges, anti-farmer policy is being implemented and many other reasons which have severely affected people. What work has the BJP done that people will vote for them?
“Government schemes have not reached people. Meanwhile, they are introducing policies that are anti-people. Prices of commodities and fuel has reached a new level. Hence, we are confident that people will vote against the BJP government,” he said.
District Congress president Harish Kumar said, “The government has misused administration and brought in changes in reserved constituencies ahead of the elections. They have also divided the wards unscientifically. BJP is trying different tactics to face the elections. On the other hand, BJP is also threatening Congress-backed candidates to withdraw their nominations.”
Former MLC Ivan D’Souza was also present.
