Sullia: Asiya case - Police canes crowd, Swamiji gets death threat

Daijiworld Media Network - Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Dec 11: Asiya, who claims that she had undergone religious conversion to marry a native of Sullia and that her husband's family has been thwarting her efforts to reunite with her husband, is sitting on a dharna in front of a shop here. After people gathered at the spot where she is protesting on the night of Thursday December 10, the police had to wield their lathis to disperse the crowd.

Asiya sat on dharna in front of Kattekar footwear belonging to her husband's family in protest as a meeting called to solve her problem did not succeed. Several people and also a town panchayat lady member were standing with her to extend moral support. In WhatsApp groups, a message was flashed that a protest would be held on the evening of December 10 in front of the above whop. At around 8.40 pm, a sizeable crowd had gathered at the spot and the police lathi-charged the gathering and dispersed them.

I have read in other paper that this woman was married and she divorced her first husband.

Whether divorce is owing to this man or before meeting this man, nothing is mentioned, It is reported that after her family members came to know of her conversion to Islam and 2nd marriage, they have cut the family ties and having come from a rich family, it is said she lost her right to family property.

After her second husband came to know that he could not get any more wealth from her, he tried to keep her away. This is what I read.

A girl marrying her choice without seeing and getting approval from family and communities, after for any reason they are not in good relation. What religion and society has to do with this? why cant she go to police and court and get justise? why unnecessary bringing community or religion in this?

If you think in broader way so many poor muslims girls are at home without getting suitable boy to marry due to financial issue. Better marry this type of girls in simple way and have a happy and healthy relationship.

Shame on asiya first of all why is she still behind him when he doesn't want her? How will you live a life when one partner doesn't like you. Wear your big pants and move forward...file for divorce and try getting your money back. You change your religion or no that your choice you can stay as a Muslim and get a better man in your life. Thank God kids are not there in between this nonsense

It is pointless for this lady to live with such a spineless Amul baby husband and such a hostile family. Best course is to file for divorce and also a dowry harassment case and try to get back her 25 lakhs. I am sure once this is done she can take the next step forward in life.
