Mangaluru, Dec 11: The case of graffiti created on the walls at two places in the city by some youngsters seems to be heading towards greater ramifications. In the mobile phones and laptops of the two accused who are in police custody, video clips and other literature of some notorious persons who have been spreading terrorism, have been found.
As the case has turned more serious now, the police have intensified their investigation.
Maz Munir Ahammed, an engineering student from Thirthahalli, who is in police custody, is the mastermind of the misadventure. It is said that he used to stay confined within the four walls and draw up plans. Mohammed Shaarik, the other accused, used to move around and support his activities.
Apart from contents found in the mobile phones and laptops, about 150 books pertaining to different religions were found in the possession of the accused. The books belong to Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism etc. In addition, inflammatory videos of Sheikh Abdulla Faisal from Jamaica, who has been proclaimed as a global terrorist working for ISIS, were found. This has given rise to the suspicion about the accused having connections with terrorist organizations. Police sources said that investigations about the financial support they received are under way.
