Bengaluru, Dec 7: “Differences will soon crop up within the BJP in the state and the government will crumble on its own. Thereafter, the Congress will rise to power again," predicted state Congress in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala.
He was speaking at a meeting of senior leaders and district presidents of the party here on Sunday December 6. He noted that the BJP government was not elected by the people, but was formed by violating the people's mandate. "We did not have majority, but BJP too did not have. The government came into existence through devious means with corruption and money. The government formed in a clandestine way has become a curse for the people," he opined.
“This government has not been serving the interests of the people. The central leadership is unhappy at the way the government is functioning. Therefore, differences between the leaders will cause the state government to fall. If the Congress has to rise to power on its own, everyone has to work hard and be ready for sacrifice. We have to sacrifice our personal interests to achieve the well-being of the party. It is possible to see Congress government in Karnataka in six months if Congressmen are ready for this," he stated.
He said that the Congress leaders and legislators should own responsibility to see that Congress supported candidates win the panchayat election. All the leaders from top to bottom have to share responsibilities equally,
He asked all the party supporters and functionaries to take to streets to hold a protest on December 8 as All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have expressed support for the bandh call.
