Byndoor, Dec 7: It is but natural for the newlyweds to plan their honeymoon in advance. But Anudeep Hegde and Minusha Kanchan couple from this taluk gave more importance to clearing the beach rather than going on honeymoon. After working regularly for nine days, they have been successful in clearing debris from one part of Someshwara beach. The couple is now preparing to leave on a honeymoon trip.
Anudeep is into digital marketing while Minusha is an employee of a pharmaceutical company. They got married on November 18. In order to ensure that the memories of their marriage linger longer in their memory, they decided to clean Someshwara beach here. During the first seven days, they collected 500 kg waste and disposed them off. Since the last two days, the locals have joined hands with them. As much as 700 metres of the beach has been cleaned now, and the total amount of waste they collected is around 700 to 800 kg.
They began to pick waste materials lying in Someshwara beach from November 27. Every day they set aside two hours for this purpose and put together liquor bottles, footwear and other environmentally hazardous materials. During the first week, they disposed of 500 kg of waste. Since the last two days some locals have joined hands with them. 700 metres of the beachline has been cleaned and 700 to 800 kg waste has been collected and disposed of.
Anudeep Hegde expresses happiness at the fact that the cleanliness campaign begun by them now has attracted more people. He said that Hassan along with his team and also Manjunath Shetty from Byndoor are involved with the task now.
