Bantwal, Dec 7: The family members of well-known saxophonist, Padma Shri Dr Gopalnath, dedicated to the work a memorial that has been created in his honour at his tomb at Sajipa, his native place near here, on Sunday December 6. The day happens to be the birth anniversary of the gifted artiste.

The tomb of the late Dr Kadri Gopalnath has been tastefully designed, and the words which declare that music happens to be language of heart and as such, it is the universal language that transcends the barriers of country and religion. The bust of the celebrated artiste has been installed at the tomb.

Kadri's disciples Chandrashekharnath Kananthoor, Janardanan V R Chennai, Sridhar Sagar, Tridhat, Prakash Kodyadka,Prof Babunarayan, Ganeshnath and Vekatachalapathi presented musical compositions. By playing saxophone and mandolin, they brought back memories of their Guru.

Mangaluru MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, president of Jogi Sudharaka Sangha, Kiran Jogi, dignitaries like Pammi Kodialbail, Vijayakumar Kodialbail, Devadas Kapikad, family members Sarojini Gopalnath, Kadri Manikanth, Adithi Manikanth, Ambika, Mohan Jogi, Chandranath, Ganeshinath and other close ones were present.
