Mangaluru: Indrajith murder - Investigation reveals past rivalry, nine arrested

Mangaluru, Nov 28: Relating to the murder of Indrajith (29), a resident of Bokkapatna near the Karnal Garden in Kudroli in the city during late hours on Wednesday November 25 night, personnel of Barke police station here have arrested nine persons and investigation are being carried on. 

The investigation team led by commissioner of police Vikas Kumar IPS, and in close supervision of DCP(L&O) and ACP, central sub-division, the investigation officer PI, Barke PS along with staff and in coordination with PI CCB and staff arrested Mokshith, Ullas (20), Ashik (23), Rakesh (28), Goutham (25), Koushik (25), Nithin (25), Jagadish aka Talavar Jagga (53), and Sharan aka Chanu (19). All the arrested are residents of Boloor except Nithin who is a resident of Farangipete post.

Investigations revealed that one of the accused, Jagadish aka Talavar Jagga's son Varun was murdered by Monkeystand rowdy gang of Pandeshwar six years ago at Haigebail under Urwa police station limits. Therefore, to avenge the murder of his son, Jagga conspired and murdered Indrajit who was reportedly associated with Monkeystand rowdy gang of Pandeshwar, the police reported.

The accused will be produced before the court and police custody will be sought for further investigation, the police added.

Indrajith reportedly had left his home at around 10 pm on Wednesday. He had taken part in the Mehndi function connected with the marriage ceremony of his friend. When he was returning home, a gang which apparently was waiting for him, pounced upon him and murdered him, it is learnt.
