Al-Jubail/ KSA, May 16: The Badria Association for Muslim Youth (BAMY), here organized BAMY Trophy – 2010, a ten-over cricket knock-out tournament at DYWIDAG ground, here on Friday May 14.
The BAMY Trophy – 2010, under the motto of ‘Cricket for charity’ was organized with the special support and sponsorship of Mehtab, team manager of DYWIDAG and NGC owner Mohammed Ismail Krishnapura, with commitments by the NGC team captain and the team leader of organizing committee of BAMY Trophy Mansoor Krishnapura and his team members.
All the matches were played under the flood-lights, beginning at 6.30 pm. Team Airtech and Blue Star played the first semi final of the tourney. Blue Star entered into the final, to play against the winners of second semi final the AMACO team.
The chief guests and hundreds of cricket fans witnessed the grand finale held between Blue Star and AMACO. After a prolonged battle, Blue Star defeated AMACO team. The victory was marked by the team spirit and excellent game plan of Blue Star captain - Haider, who utilized the team resources well. The Blue Star team deservedly lifted the BAMY Trophy - 2010.
Veteran cricketer Mukka Ashraf, U K Asif and Nawaz Angaragundi discharged the duty of umpires in the tournament. Imran Krishnapura was the commentator for the whole tournament and he was assisted by Vilayath DYWIDAG. Mehboob and Huraish was the score recorder for the event.
A colorful finale trophy presentation ceremony was well arranged by Shahid – business man and manager of Whitestone. Mohammed Ismail Krishnapura (NGC), Mohammed Shareef Krishnapura, Mansoor Krishnapura (NGC partner and captain of NGC), Usman Krishnapura (Al-Jubail), Khalandar Krishnapura (Al Bawardi-Jubail) Qayyum, Noor Dammam were the chief guests for the occasion.
Usman Krishnapura presented gifts to the DYWIDAG ground volunteers for their support. He also handed over the Man of the Match award to Iqbal of Blue Star, who played a superb game in the final. Man of the Series was awarded to Niyaz of AMACO and Best Bowler award was presented to Zubair of AMACO. Qayyum, Mohammed Shareef Krishnapura and Noor Dammam presented trophies to the best performers of each matches. Mohammed Ismail Krishnapura presented the Trophy to Haider, captain of Blue Star. All players of the winning team were also awarded with mementoes.
Shahid congratulated the winners and runners-up of BAMY Trophy 2010 and proposed the vote of thanks.
