Bengaluru, Nov 25: Former Director of Information and Publicity Department N Bhrungeesh has been appointed as the new media advisor to Chief Minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa.

Before retirement as the Director of Information and Publicity Department, Bhrungeesh was worked as the media secretary to Yediyurappa.

The State Government has issued an order appointing Bhrungeesh as the Chief Minister’s media advisor with immediate effect.

Bhrungeesh, however, is known to be a quiet and efficient worker, who had worked as Media Secretary not only to Yediyurappa but even to former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.

The Chief Minister’s media advisor Mahadev Prakash had tendered resignation to his post citing personal reasons.

Another senior journalist M B Maramkal has been sacked from the post of the political advisor to the Chief Minister.

It is understood that Chief Minister’s son B Y Vijayendra, who has been appointed as the National Vice President of BJP by President J P Nadda, did not want both Mahadev Prakash and Maramkal to be close to the Chief Minister and was behind their quitting. Earlier, former minister and BJP MP from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Shobha Karandlaje, who is considered to be a close confidant of Yediyurappa, was also banished from the proximity of the Chief Minister.
