Mangaluru, Nov 23: Moolathva Foundation Charitable Trust has decided to confer the Moolathva Vishwa Award 2020 to social worker Ravi Katpadi who dons unique costumes during 'Krishna Janmashtami' in Udupi.
The award will be conferred on November 29 in a programme organised at Sharadha Vidyalaya at 10.45 am.
Ravi Katpadi, a daily wager hails from Udupi, uses the festivity of 'Krishna Janamashtami' of Udupi to help underprivileged children avail medical treatment.
During Janmashtami, Ravi has been dressing up in unique costumes, entertaining people and amassing money so that he can help ailing children.
Ravi Katpadi was able to collect around Rs 52.5 lac since 2013 to financially support children requiring medical treatment.
His costumes every year are themed on aliens and monsters. Each attire has been designed meticulously for the occasion.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, spiritual thinker Purushotham Kottary, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld Walter Nandalike, dean of Vikas Group of College Dr Manjula Anil Rao will be taking part in the programme, notified Prakash Moolathva founder-president of Moolathva Foundation Charitable Trust.
