Kundapur, Nov 23: Mala Adiga of Indian origin has been nominated as the policy director for Jill Biden, wife of USA President-elect Joe Biden.
Mala Adiga (47) belongs to Kakkunje Adiga family of Kundapur taluk of the district.
Earlier, Mala had discharged her duties as director of higher education, military families in Biden Foundation. She also worked as a legal and political advisor for Jill Biden. Mala was the deputy secretary in the education and cultural department of American national education project. In the month of January 2021, Mala will be appointed as the policy director for Jill Biden.
Mala was born and brought up in the USA. She is a resident of Illinois. She graduated from Grinnel college affiliated to Minnesota University. Later she acquired a law degree from Chicago law College and worked as a lawyer. Her father Kakkunje Ramesh Adiga (84) is a doctor by profession. He has been living with his family in the USA for the past six decades and is a citizen of the USA. Charles Biro, husband of Mala Adiga is also a lawyer. The couple has a 15-year-old daughter by the name Asha. Mala had come to Kundapur along with her husband and family seven years ago. Family sources said that they visited the Kakkunje temple.
