Bengaluru, Nov 23: Police have caught three people who were impersonating for other candidates in Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) examinations.
Police constable Nagappa Pavedappa Thukkannavar, Mallikarjun Babalannavar, Laxman Somaiah are the arrested.
Accused Nagappa Pavedappa is working as a constable in the Shringeri police station of Chikkamagaluru district. It is learnt that he is on leave since August 24 due to ill health. Four actual candidates for whom these fraudsters were writing the examinations were also arrested by the police.

Written examination of KSRP and IRB constables was held in various centres across the state on Sunday, November 22. Invigilators at the Gokak examination center of Belagavi caught a youth who was writing the examination for someone else. The officials relayed the matter to all the districts and alerted the officials.
Bengaluru police started quick action as soon as they received the information from Belagavi and started checking in all the examination centres. They found constable Nagappa Pavedapppa Thukkannavar writing the examination for Halappa Narayana Hallur in an engineering college at Kengeri in the city. He was arrested immediately.
Similarly, Mallikarjun Babalannavar, who was impersonating for Hanumantha Vagganavar at SJRC women's college in the city was also caught by the police.
Interrogation of the accused is continuing. Search is on to know their background as well as that of the real candidates who were supposed to write the examination. Police are also checking the lodges where the accused stayed before coming to the examination centres. Concerned officials said that the investigation is continuing to know whether the accused took money from the real candidates to write the examination and also other people behind this illegal act.
