Most of the students who underwent coronavirus tests have got their certificates. They are expected to regularly attend colleges from next week. Students in college on the first day of reopening
Joint director in the department of collegiate education, Appaji Gowda, said that 215 students in Dakshina Kannada district and 232 in Udupi district attended government colleges on Thursday. There was an increase of six percent on Thursday over Wednesday as far as attendance of students is concerned.
It is felt that attendance would have been better in Mangaluru colleges if train services had resumed. Most students from Kasargod district studying in the city depend on trains for travel. Buses have resumed operations recently, but increased bus fares become a burden for them, sources said.
