Mumbai, Nov 18: Ghatkopar resident Panamburu Subba Rao (95) who served as an honorary auditor and tax consultant of BSKB Association, Gokula, here, for nearly six decades passed away on Sunday November 15 after a brief illness.
Subba Rao who was born in Panamburu, Dakshina Kannada district had gone to Mumbai after passing BCom degree at St Aloysius College, Mangaluru. He obtained training in Mumbai in the company of R K Karanth, Chartered Accountants and passed C A in his first attempt. He served as a partner in the company of R K Karanth for nearly three decades before starting his own partnership firm together with Ashok Melmane in 2000.
He was active as an auditor despite his ripe age and became famous by the name tax dictionary. BSKB Association recognising his selfless valuable services felicitated him on Republic Day in 2018.
He has left behind his wife Gauri S Rao, two sons Ajith S Rao and Arun S Rao, daughter Shubhada S Rao, a large number of friends and relatives. BSKB Association Mumbai president, Dr Suresh S Rao Kateel, members, heads and members of several social organizations in Mumbai expressed their condolences on his sad demise.
