The mortal remains of Hanumantha were found on Kunjathurpadavu road on the morning of November 5. A scooter was also found besides his mortal remains. Initially it was suspected that Hanumantha must have been killed in accident. However, the police suspected some foul play and it was known from post mortem report that Hanumantha was murdered.
When Hanumantha came home after finishing his duty in a hotel at Mangaluru on the morning of November 5, he saw her paramour Allah Pasha with his wife Bhagyashree. This led to verbal arguments and fist fight. Both Bhagyashree and Allah Pasha suffocated Hanumantha to death. Later Allah Pasha shifted the mortal remains of Hanumantha on his scooter. Bhagyashree accompanied him. They threw Hanumantha's mortal remains at Kunjathurpadavu road and put his scooter besides the body to make it look as if it is death due to scooter accident.
Locals informed the Manjeshwar police as soon as they saw the mortal remains of Hanumantha lying on the road. Police who reported to the spot initially thought that it is indeed an accident. However, when locals expressed suspicion, the body was taken to Kannur medical college hospital for post mortem. In the post mortem report it was established that Hanumantha was killed due to strangulation.
It is said that Hanumantha and his wife used to quarrel over frequent visits of Allah Pasha to his house. Locals had noticed fierce argument between Hanumantha and his wife just a week prior to the murder. When police interrogated Hanumantha's wife based on the details provided by locals, the gruesome act of murder came to light.
