Udupi, Nov 12: Following the announcement of reopening of classes from November 17 in Karnataka, Udupi deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha issued certain guidelines for the prevention of coronavirus.

Speaking at a meeting held over the resumption of government, private, aided and unaided college educational activities within the laid down parameters, the DC said, "The final year degree classes will reopen on November 17 in the district after observing all the COVID guidelines by the government."

“Students can attend classes with the stipulated letter of permission duly signed by their parents. Online classes will be conducted for the students that do not attend classes,” he said.

“The teachers, college staff and the students should undergo mandatory COVID-19 tests three days prior to the reopening day of the college and obtain a negative test report. All the classrooms of the college should be completely sanitized. Teachers should wear mandatory masks and face shields. NCC, NSS or other cultural activities should not be held. Teaching should be held in the classrooms keeping in mind the social distance with a limited number of students. Additional classrooms can be used if necessary. Thermal scanners and sanitizers should be provided at entry and exit points of the college. The highest priority should be given for hygiene in college toilets,” he said.

“Students in colleges should be made aware of the methods beneficial in the prevention of coronavirus. Banners and boards about the precautions that should be taken must be hung for additional awareness. Students should be made to take a vow that they will follow the guidelines. A COVID prevention task force is to be formed in colleges and meetings should be held to ensure that there are no lapses in COVID prevention. The district task force should visit colleges and take stock of the actions taken by the institutions. Suitable action will be taken against the concerned if lapses are found,” warned DC G Jagadeesha.

“Additional government and private buses will be put to service for the students if their scarcity is observed. The DHO will be required to provide first aid kits that contain all the necessary items to all the colleges,” the DC said.

“Lessons will be taught online for students who are unable to come to college. Students that are coming to the college should bring a lunch box and drinking water from their homes. Students should not share their belongings with other students. Colleges should inform the nearest health centre if any student displays symptoms of coronavirus and get them tested,” he said.

District panchayat CEO Dr Navin Bhat, DHO Dr Sudhir Chandra Sooda and principals of various government, private, aided and unaided colleges were present in the meeting.

Once students are tested three days before college, god forbid what's the guarantee they are not getting infected once they start going to college depending on various modes of transport and meeting people from various places? Who will bear the cost of testing? Any sense? Why you people do not understand the problem of a common man, who is not getting salary like before?? Use your chair for implanting wise plans and not to prosper one who are already prosperous during pandemic... Let students not go if such rules are implemented. Dear sir. First you check the colleges whether they have maintained as per the guidelines laid by UGC? UGC guidelines are really wonderful... Are they given simply for fooling the public or they are implemented?

So, the possibility of being infected only happens before college commences. And it can never happen after. Why such useless rules to get tested? What is the need to place such authoritarian diktats in the name of controlling the spread?

Expect in a year or two a new dictat all should get compulsorily get vaccines to come out of their homes, to colleges, malls, buses, trains & air travel.
The mask, distance etc are testing the waters before jumping in with the final blow on freedom of people not to get any vaccines with toxic contents which most likely to hurt their health for life time & creating more patients to hospitals & pharma industries to exploit.
If anybody comes to know the content & formulation of these vaccines nobody will be ready to get them with human & religious along with scientific proof exposing the vaccine industry scams.

When the authorities introduced Lock downs It was only for a few days,
When masks were made compulsory then it is only for few days,
When sanitisation was introduced it was only for a limited time,
When distance should be maintained it is for a limited days.
This is how totalitarian regimes take away freedom step by step, by lauding people for helping curb the spread of invisible virus narrative..
Sweden didn't do it & they are covid free & no second wave will hit that nation as all got their immunity enhanced. No students from school to college got infected or gave it to their teachers or to their parents. Why don't we follow them than failed actions like the above in UK & other European countries as standard protocol?
Being a parent I'm against compulsory or mandatory testing for corona & will send my kid to college as I know from scientists & doctors in that field proving this pandemic to be a hoax. I am responsible to take care of him without govt. intervention or isolation as it is just another flu like infection we all have experienced in 1960's, 1984, 2002 also without all these draconian steps.
Stop these Germ Theory Based false propaganda of WHO & Vaccine Industries who want ulterior motive to succeed through authoritarian protocols.
