Mangaluru, Nov 11: BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel on Wednesday November 11 said that people's mandate given to BJP in the by-elections held for Sira and Rajarajeshwari Nagara assembly constituencies and for three legislative council elections, proved that the Congress is the party of corruption, thus people have rejected them in the bypolls.
Addressing a press meet at BJP office here, Nalin said, "People have rejected the politics of caste, goondaism and blessed the BJP in both the constituencies.
“The victory of the party in the bypolls for the two assembly constituencies and three legislative council in Karnataka is the result of development oriented administration of chief minister B S Yediyurappa and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rule at the Centre. Even in another legislative council constituency, for which the result yet to come, BJP is leading,” he said.
Nalin congratulated the BJP's team work, party workers and leaders for their efforts in gaining the victory.
He further said, "People have sent self-proclaimed leaders 'Huli' to the cage and the broke the 'Bande' into pieces by voting BJP and rejecting Congress in the by-polls.
"People of both the constituencies blessed the BJP to continue Yediyurappa's administration for the remaining 2.5 years in the state,” he said.
Speaking on NDA's performance in Bihar assembly polls, Nalin said, "Results of the assembly elections in Bihar and bypolls in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, proves that Modi wave is still present in the country. People have voted BJP for Modi's developmental works and effectively managing Covid-19 situation in the country."
Taking on former chief minister Siddaramaiah, Nalin said, "People have rejected Siddaramaiah from Chamundeshwari. People have also rejected Congress in Sira and RR Nagar. In future, Siddaramaiah will be also rejected even from Badami.” He also said that there will be BJP government in the state for the next 10 years.
Speaking on DJ Halli and KJ Halli violence, he said, "DJ Halli and KJ Halli violence was not a Hindu-Muslim riot, but the violence took place because of internal bickering of Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar.
"Former Bengaluru mayor Sampath Raj was the follower of D K Shivakumar while MLA Akhanada Srinivasmurthy was the follower of Siddaramaiah. The investigation into the violence has revealed that to unseat Srinivasmurthy, the violence was carried out," he said.
Nalin also challenged KPCC president D K Shivakumar that if he respects law of the land, he should surrender Sampath Raj who is absconding at present.
"Congress has failed to protect Akhanda Srinivasmurthy or prevent miscreants from setting on fire the residence of a Dalit leader," he added.
Commenting on Bantwal municipal election results, Nalin alleged that Congress won the polls with the help of SDPI by working out an internal understanding.
