Udupi: One arrested for duping people with fake job promise

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Nov 11: On the basis of a complaint filed by Mathias, working as security guard at KMC Hospital Manipal, a case of cheating had been registered in the town police station here.

Mathias stated that when he was on duty near the outpatient department of KMC Hospital on October 25 this year, a person who identified himself as Ganesh Naik, approached him. Naik told Mathias that he was employed as ticket collector in Konkan Railway Corporation and that he can get Mathias job there. He reportedly collected Rs 20,000 in cash from Mathias along with documents. He also is said to have collected money similarly from a lady named Vanitha from Parkala and handed over a fake appointment letter to her. However, he failed to provide employment as promised to both Mathias and Vanitha. Mathias had requested the police to locate the accused who cheated him and take legal action against him.

It is said that the accused had claimed himself as a ticket collector for Konkan Railways and duped several people in Udupi and other districts with similar fake promises. His modus operandi is to promise employment and collect money and documents and then cheat the people.

A team led by Udupi police circle inspector, Manjunath, town branch sub-inspectors of police, Saktivelu E and Rasappa Naik, arrested the accused on Tuesday November 10. Railway police inspector Santosh Gaonkar and other personnel of his department helped the police in this task, the police said.

The operation was conducted by the above team under the direction of the district superintendent of police N Vishnuvardhan, additional superintendent of police Kumar Chandra and others.

20,00 rupees for ordinary people is a big amount. Hard earned and must have been save for future emergency times. May be borrowed and given to that cheater. Such people are habitual frauds because they do not work hard and earn lively hood. Easy money and enjoyment in life.

    Case is not possible.
    Why?
Because it's cash transaction and has no record of transaction.
Any lawyer can get this guy off the case easily.
It is simple she said he said case.
Only possible solution is put a picture of this guy in newspaper etc so that people are aware that these incidents do happen and be cautious.
If the victims had used bank neft/imps/transfer/upi etc then a case of cheating u/s 420 of ipc is possible.

"Suit boot me aaya kanaiyya band bajaane ko.." How easily our people are getting trapped? Little usage of common sense even after repeated messages from cyber police in the mob and detailed articles getting published in media.... In this pandemic, try to be happy with the job whatever you have for the survival. Don't try to pluck grapes thinking they will be sweet but in reality they will be sour after plucking.. . unless otherwise you know the source is accurate and authentic and reliable... What to say?

It seems that this guy watching always fake Bhashans of utterly failed Pradhan Sevak from May-June 2014 and got the tactics of fake. Like he fooled the entire nation till today by fake promises and Bhashans, this gentleman also cheats using the same tactics.

Whatever the state election or by-elections results maybe....for sure 2021 year for I N D I A will be drastic....as GDP is staring at -23% and moreover most of GCC NRE's start to return due to job loss once flights will start.

At present Udupi-Mangalore is full of people who came back from Mumbai-Maharashtra due to job-loss due to COVID-19, on which Central Govt. totally failed to manage the Pandemic disaster, whereas all other nations successfully managed and overcome this Pandemic. India is 2nd worst hit and 1st is USA.....and there is another utterly dumb failed & defeated T R U M P...HOWDY
