Mangaluru, Nov 9: Kavoor police have arrested two men in connection with the murder of the 60-year-old Kerala native Surendran at his residence at Kavoor Malli Layout on November 3.
A case of unidentified men slashing Surendran's throat with a blade cutter in a barbaric manner was registered in Kavoor police station. Kavoor police inspector who took up investigations under the guidance of senior police officials with the cooperation of the CCB unit and technical department formed three teams to crack the case.
The accused have been identified as Santhosh (43) a resident of Urwa store, Mangaluru who had done fabrication work in Surendran's house in the past. Reportedly, Santhosh grew vengeful when he felt he was underpaid for the job. He then hatched a plan to kill Surendran with the help of his friend Siddappa (36) a resident of Baikampady, Mangaluru and permanent resident of Kodikere village, Gadag.
The investigating team has said that the accused had come to the house of Surendran in the guise of asking for work, murdered Surendran and run away with a small amount of cash from the house. The two accused men were produced in the court and have been remanded in judicial custody at present.
