The only alternative, to prevent chain snatching, is to avoid wearing any ornaments... Miscreants are always on the lookout to loot and scoot !!! North Kerala, is an abode for illegal activities... The spillover is felt in Dakshin Kannada district !! This lady was indeed lucky, the crime was recorded on CCTV.... majority of the cases, are never detected, they know this and in turn become habitual criminals !!!

Here, the CCTV camera helped the police to catch the thief. In Mumbai, when CCTV cameras were not installed, still police were able to catch thieves.

It came in the paper that in Mumbai, a woman came to the police station crying that her mangalsutra was snatched at bus stand. Since it was mangalsutra and her cry, the inspector felt very bad and he asked her home address and told her, he would try his best.

Inspector immediately called the leader of the gang and told him to find out about the snatched mangalsutra and hand over to him. After two hours, police went to the woman's house and handed over her mangalsutra. In Mumbai, police know everything, but these activities give them a part of their bread and butter.
