Udupi, Nov 3: The court here, on Monday November 2, remanded Prashanth, accused of involvement with the death of Rakshita Nayak from Kukkehalli under suspicious circumstances, to 14 days judicial custody.
The police had arrested Prashant on October 30. After subjecting him to intense questioning for three days, they produced him in the court on Monday.
The police said that the court remanded Prashant to 14 days judicial custody.

Initially, on the basis of complaint made on October 25 by the parents of Raksita Nayak, an unnatural death report was registered in the town police station here. On October 30, Rakshita's father again complained that the accused Prashanth had concealed from his daughter the fact that he was already married. "He won her trust and developed a physical relationship. He also got her to abort the pregnancy against her wishes, and thereby abetted her suicide," he stated. On the basis of this complaint, a rape case was registered and Prashant was arrested," the police stated.
