Bantwal: Veteran of freedom struggle M D Shyamarao passes away

Bantwal, Nov 3: M D Shyamarao (97), who had actively participated in the freedom movement, breathed his last on Tuesday November 3 morning. His end came at the Metro Hospital, Shivamogga.

It is learnt that since the last few months, he was facing certain age-related health complications.

MD Shyamarao had joined the freedom movement after 1942. He had joined the Congress Sevadal and used to secretly extend support to the freedom movement. He had been arrested for this in 1946 and jailed in the Shivamogga prison for two months.

Shyamarao was a native of B C Road. He was residing with his son at Shivamogga. It is gathered that his funeral will take place near the family house at Kalladka.
