Udupi, Oct 28: “Eid Milad festival is being celebrated in the district on October 29 and gathering of people is common during the festival. In order to prevent spread of the coronavirus infection, guidelines issued by the administration should be strictly followed during the celebrations,” stated a press release from deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha.
Guidelines:
- Community processions and gathering are banned on October 29.
- The recitation of community prayers/programmes during day or night in Mohallas are banned.
- Social distancing should be followed in mosques and dargahs.
- Loud speakers and digital sound systems (DJ) are banned in public places.
All people should compulsorily wear masks. People above 60 years of age and below 10 years should celebrate the feast only inside their homes. Suitable arrangements should be made at the mosque entrances to wash hands with sanitizers and soaps. Everybody should maintain a minimum distance of six feet between themselves. Community prayers at the cemetry or recitation of prayers should not be held.
Action will be taken against the violators as per Karnataka Epidemic Disease Ordinance 2020 Section 5(3), 6(1)(2) and Disaster Management Act 2005 Section 57, stated the press release.
