Udupi: MLA Raghupati Bhat recovers from Covid, admits staying in solitary confinement was tough

Udupi, Oct 27: MLA K Raghupathi Bhat said that he was under home isolation for 17 days after having been detected with coronavirus infection. He added that he has recovered fully and will take part in programmes beginning Tuesday October 27.

Giving details of his infection, he said he had experienced a little cough some days back. "On getting tested, COVID infection was confirmed. I got admitted into KMC Hospital, got tests done and remained in home isolation. Remaining aloof for 17 days was a very tough situation of my life," he revealed.

Bhat has said that wearing of masks without fail and use of sanitizers are very important. He also advised people to get themselves tested immediately after they experience symptoms of the disease and to follow all safety measures till the scientists find a vaccine for this disease.

    Recovering from COVID 19 is a herculean job. God save the mankind from this disease. Thank God our MLA recovered. I am worried about many who suffer due to this disease, those who died and lost their daily bread due to this disease.

    It didn't matter to the common man in any way. Isn't it shameful that absence of a people's representative from public life over a prolonged period was not felt at all. The potholes, drainage, pending highway work, unemployed youth, collapsing businesses, helpless migrant workers, etc will continue to haunt the Nation whether the MLAs/MPs are alive or otherwise.
