Udupi, Oct 27: A youth who had left a lady who was in a critical condition in a hospital and had escaped before she breathed her last, has been found and arrested by the police.
Rakshita Nayak, a second year BCom degree student from Kukkehalli village within the limits of Hiriadka police station limits had breathed her last at Gandhi Hospital here on the night of Saturday October 24. She had been admitted by Prashanth Kunder from Jadkal near Kollur by bringing her in an auto rickshaw that evening. He had brought her in an auto rickshaw, transferred her on to a stretcher there and then gone missing. His mobile phone had also been found to have been switched off. Before switching off his mobile phone, he had conveyed information about the girl having been admitted in the hospital, to her family.
Rakshita's patents had filed a complaint saying that their daughter had died under suspicious circumstances. The police who took up the case, found Prashanth Kunder on Monday. He is being questioned.
Rakshita's post-mortem was performed on Sunday night. The report is awaited to find out whether it was a case of murder of suicide. There is information that alcohol traces were found in Rakshita's body and her neck bore blood clot marks.
Prashanth Kunder, it is said, is already married. Still, he had succeeded in making Rakshita fall for him, it is said. But there is no clue under what circumstances the lady died or whether she was murdered.
