Udupi, Oct 25: The newly-built third floor of Christ School, Manipal was inaugurated on Sunday, October 25 by Fr Fredrick D'Souza, parish priest of Christ King Church, Manipal.
Fr Fredrick inaugurated the programme by lighting a lamp. He blessed the premises of the new library, classrooms, the science lab with holy water. He conducted the prayer service, accompanied by Fr Rolwin Fernandes assistant parish priest.
In his blessings address, Fr Fedrick said, "Today a dream has come true. A dream that we had for the welfare of the students. A dream to shape them into good human beings. With our belief in God, we stepped into this project, which we completed with patience. We refused to give up until we achieved this goal. That is when good things transformed into better things and better turned into best.
"Every institution is a holy place and a temple of learning. It is neither about making money nor only attaining knowledge. It is learning the art of how to live and help others to live. It is an art of living in a good way. There is a saying which goes something like, 'everybody has to be a blessing to everybody'. That is what a wonderful human being is to another person. That should be the goal of any institution. We wanted to keep our students safe and this project was a collective effort," he said.
"Let us impart moral values to the students along with good education and teach them how to keep others happy. Put your effort in making the children's life even brighter. Everyone is not destined to do great things, however, all of us can certainly do little things with immense love," Fr Fredrick added.
Mary A R Sreshta, vice-president, parish pastoral council gave a brief overview of the project.
Eliza Vaz, the principal of the school proposed a vote of thanks. Diana Monteiro welcomed and compered the programme.
