Acting on credible information on their movement, a police team led by Bantwal DySP Valentine D'Souza walylaid the car and arrested the accused. They are being interrogated by the cops.
On the night of October 20, both the accused had allegedly entered Surendra's flat at BC Road. Later, on October 21, when friends called Surendra on his mobile phone, there was no response. Growing suspicious, his friends informed the matter to the police. When the police arrived at his flat, there was foul smell emanating and no one opened the main door despite repeated knocks.
The police broke open the door and saw Surendra lying in a pool of blood. When the cops checked the CCTV camera, they found that two persons had entered the flat the previous night. On suspicion, when the cops called accused Sathish Kulal, his mobile phone was found to be switched off.
Later, the main accused in the case, Sathish Kulal himself had made an audio and sent to the police in which he had taken the responsibility for the murder.
