Mangaluru, Oct 24: If you ever had dreamt of enjoying an entire film in the cinema hall exclusively with your family or close ones, here is the opportunity. Pay Rs 1,999 and watch the movie alone or in the company of people of your choice.

This offer has been made by a few multiplexes in the city. The managements of the theatres are frustrated at the fact that even though the theatres have opened their doors as per central government norms, the number of audience is not picking up. Most single screen theatres have stopped functioning while a few multiplexes which had to cancel several shows for want of audience, are coming up with offers.

Big Cinemas in the city has come up with one such offer. It has offered the audience the chance to own the theatre for two and half hours. If Rs 1,999 is too much, you can just pay Rs 500 and take the entire Gold Premium class. If ten friends and family members can come together, they can pay Rs 50 per ticket and enjoy the movie with just ten people in the theatre.

The multiplex owners feel that these offers are necessary to attract the audiences towards the theatres. A spokesperson of Big Cinemas says that theatres in Maharashtra, Telangana and Tamil Nadu have not yet been opened. He says that producers are now waiting for the government's move. No new films are coming and the films currently being shown have already been shown on OTT. Therefore attracting an audience is becoming difficult. Therefore such offers are made, he adds.

It is learnt that 35 to 40 people have already made enquiries about these offers but as of now how many of them will accept the offer is not yet certain.
