Udupi, Oct 24: Deputy commissioner (DC) of the district, G Jagadeesha, said that COVID 19 cases in the district are showing the signs of coming down. He added that this is the result of collective effort made by the district administration, officers and staff of all the departments.
He said that the number of infected people is coming down gradually since the last few days as a result of officers and other staff who overlooked their personal problems and worked hard tirelessly without availing any leave to control this disease.
"Our district emerged as a model for the other districts in conducting COVID tests, identifying the infected persons, treating them, and implementing other modus operandi relating to the pandemic. At a time when we are approaching the phase of success, we need full cooperation of the people," he appealed.
Jagadeesha stated that targets fixed for performing COVID tests have to be reached in order to break the chain of infections. He explained that a minimum of 2,300 suspects have to be subjected to tests every day. While requesting everyone to help to transform the district free of coronavirus infection, the DC has extended Dasara greetings to the citizens.
