Kasargod: Coronavirus - Prohibitory orders extended till October 31

Kasargod, Oct 23: As coronavirus infection has been steadily spreading in the district, the district collector Dr D Sajith Babu, through an order, has extended the prohibitory orders enforced in the district till October 31.

From October 3, the district collector had enforced prohibitory orders under section 144 of criminal procedure code in order to bring the infection under control.

The orders were brought into force in the district in phases.

Initially the orders were brought into force at Manjeshwar, Kumble, Badiadka, Kasargod, Vidyanagar, Mellparamba, Bekal, Hosdurg, Nileshwar and Chandera police station limits. Later, it was extended to cover Parappa, Odeyanchal, and Panathadi town. Coming together or movement of groups of over five people has been barred as per the said order. In the case marriages, an exception has been made and 50 persons are allowed to attend. In the case of funerals, only 20 are allowed to attend.
