Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 21: As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 2,33,288 samples have been tested so far, out of which 2,04,506 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 28,782, including 215 new cases reported on Wednesday. Out of these, 2,845 cases are currently active.

As many as 302 people were discharged on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 25,287.

A total of 650 deaths have occured so far, including nine on Wednesday.

Over 8,841 mask violations were reported in the Dakshina Kannada district and Rs 1,01,4830 in fines were collected by the police.

Udupi

As per the Udupi district health bulletin, a total of 1,62,543 samples have been tested so far, out of which 1,41,390 have turned out to be negative.

The coronavirus tally in the district has risen to 21,153, including 121 fresh cases on Wednesday. Out of these, 1,688 cases are currently active.

As many as 191 patients were discharged on Wednesday. The total number of recoveries has climbed to 19,305.

A total of 176 deaths have occured so far.
