Karkala: Gang dumps 15 poisoned monkey carcasses on road, speeds away

Karkala, Oct 21: In a senseless act witnessed in Baradi Kambala road in Kanthavara, a gang which arrived in a Maruti Omni vehicle sped away after throwing out 15 poisoned monkeys on to the road. The incident happened at around 7.15 pm on Tuesday October 20. Three of the monkeys had died while the others were found writhing in pain in a semi-conscious state.

It is almost clear that the miscreants had poisoned these monkeys purposefully in some plantation belonging to them. The monkeys which were found suffering on the ground after consuming the poison apparently were brought in an Omni car and tossed out of the car at a desolate area on Baradi Kambala road.

Members of Baradi Friends brought this to the notice of forest officials. A forest department team visited the spot and put together relevant information. They took away monkeys found in serious condition in cages.

    Absolutely heartless to kill these species with poison and dump on the road.Why on road?Why cant they burry them somewhere in forest area.one side atleast spare the blick of children and others how they die or suffer,second Hindus worship them and they will certainly feel sentimental.Here is Govt also should hear the farmers about their problems of loosing their hard work.well,they can allow these species but limit their growth.Doctors can help here .Specially Peacocks are really neusense in paddy fields,vegetable growth.Hard work of farmers must get fruits and live with it.what will the Govt with so many Peacocks?They sit in their offices and order,poor mans problems they dont know.People too are responsible for their attack in city.They cut trees in forest sell,or use it as firemaker .

    Killing innocent animals is not any solution; humans are responsible as their population & greed has lead them to encroach their habitat!

    There should be a holistic solution for this!
    To remind all a deadly viral disease had erupted in Belthangady named Kyasnur Forest Disease due to dead, infected monkeys, which has no known medicine!

    People, farmers and residents are venting their anger and frustration for govt negligence and lack lustre attitude of govt servants.. Hope the local govt got the message from affected people. The Pachayath board, municipality and forest dept should take the responisibility for this unfortunate but desparate act of people. Garbage collection and animal nuisance are some of the issues needs urgent govt attention and solution.

    In our dakishna karnatak MUNICPAL DEPARTMENT DO nothing many area ppl dont cut the grass like a jungle offcourse animal comes, check out many area unwanted trees grow like 10 story building no one care even tulunadu ppl just sit quit they dont care area must clean nice . so many horrible animals living now.. THIS PPL ARE NOT STANDING FOR LIFE.. they just living life worst then animal . OFFCOURSE OUR GOVT. DOING NOTHING

    Wild animals come in direct conflict with humans, due to encroachment of natural forests for cultivation !!! The shrinking cover for animals, leads them to search for vegetation, fruits, planted by farmers... When confronted they viciously attack humans !!! In Mumbai, at Sanjay Gandhi National park, people fear to trespass the forest, due to attacks by leopards !!! There is no real solution for this man made disaster !!!

    Monkeys and peacocks are curse for farmers. Deforestation is nonsense argument. Coconut, paddy, vegetables... we cant grow anything at all. I am sure farmers will agree.

    if you visit this area u will experience pain how monkeys destroy all our plantation..All our coconut,papaya and fruit trees are empty...... yesterday a group of monkeys came and drank around 27 tender coconut.....having coconut trees we have to buy coconuts. all the hard labor we put in is a waste....

    As per Darwin's theory of Evolution '....Monkeys are our ancestors....Somebody should go to Karkala Rural Police Station and file a Murder Case under IPC 302 against these thugs....

    Cynthi, we have more Monkeys in Belman than people....if you have less of them....I can Fill them in Buses and drop them at Kirem....Please let me know your thoughts....

    Lan... Sir, i haven't seen any monkey in Belman ...🙊🙊... OK... Your wish will be done. We too have here. But, there won't be fight or kabbaddi in between ..kirem vs belman monkeys?? We need gorilla as an umpire too... Please send one gorilla too to control the Monkey fight.... These thugs poisoned and killed the monkeys... Why to display them on the road ?
