Mangaluru, Oct 20: Drug menace has been expanding its base in the coastal belt where several youngsters have become its victims. Police have been taking all kinds of measures to act against drug peddlers and stop use of drugs.
Dilraj Alva, owner of a private bus titled Sri Ganesh Prasad, plying on Route 27, has taken up a laudable initiative to spread awareness about drugs.
For the bus on route No. 27, this is not the first time that it has created awareness. In the past, the bus owner had promoted Tulu language and had come up with the concept of 'Go Green' in their buses.

Stickers have been placed on both sides of the bus which say, ‘Drugs will be your doom, your life is in your hands, life does not rewind and say no to drugs’.
Speaking to Daijiworld, owner of Sri Ganesh Prasad bus, Dilraj Alva said," I wanted to create awareness on drugs as well as online betting where a lot of young people fall prey. Since the last six years, I have involved myself with the act of in creating awareness. In the past, I had created awareness on saving water, environment, apart from supporting inclusion of Tulu language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. So this time, I came up with an initiative of creating awareness on drugs as youths need to stay away from drugs. This message should spread and attract the attention of the government so that it can take steps curb use of drugs.”
