Mangaluru, Oct 19: Navaratri festival has kick-started amid this pandemic and is being celebrated in a low key manner. Given the prevailing conditions, people are coming up with innovative and creative ideas for their photoshoots which is trending during this year’s festive season.
People have also witnessed eye-catching photography of Sharada, Kali, Rudrani and many others to mark the Navaratri celebration.
Similarly, a homemaker, model and entrepreneur managing HT Nutrifoods Alita Roanna Lobo hailing from Mangaluru portrayed Rudrani which is the Shakti and consort of Rudra. “The concept behind the shoot was to represent woman as the embodiment of the feminine aspect of creation and till she is respected, loved and treated as auspicious for the entire human race, she can give joy, peace and help in the growth of every aspect of creation,” says Alita.
Pradeep Nayak, Rajeev Shenoy and make-up artist Lavanya Kiran Prabhu relentlessly worked hard to give a look of Rudrani to Alita. The eye-catching photos were beautifully captured by Rajeev Shenoy which is being widely appreciated on social media.
The creative team behind the concept wanted to represent nature at its rawest and most untamed form. Within the great symbolic value and veneration of the female and the feminine, there lies the element of power, choice and freedom every woman is entitled to have.
“The Navaratri festival is a reminder of potential feminine power in the universe and is an occasion to offer gratitude to this feminine power in the form of women for their contributions to creation, sustenance, growth, joy, peace and spirituality. Let us all celebrate this Navaratri festival with such pure emotions and feelings for woman power,” says Alita.
Alita has graduated from School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya. She also worked in Doha for some time before taking a break from career to be with family and spending time with her two beautiful daughters.
She had to face a lot of challenges, but 2020 was a life-changing year for her as she took part in Mrs Karnataka Style Icon 2020 where she was one of the top finalists and subtitle winner of the Mrs Best Smile award. Alita owes gratitude to her family for being a strong pillar in her life. She is heartily grateful to Nishitha Suvarna, image consultant for motivating her to participate in the event.
“Women who are introverts feel they cannot be powerful or voice their opinion but we really need to undo that perception, which I believe I did this year. The confidence I have gained this year has helped me to be a part of a few photoshoots and Rudrani is one among them,” says Alita.
