Udupi: Police confiscate brown sugar, MDMA tablets worth Rs 4.63 lac, arrest one

Udupi, Oct 15: Acting on definite information given by a reporter that Fazal, a resident of Brahmavar, is selling banned narcotic drugs near Endpoint on RTO office road, inspector of Manipal police station Manjunath M, along with ASP Kundapur and gazetted officer Nagaraj and personnel of the police station reached the spot on Wednesday, October 14 and inquired the person who was loitering near the said place.

On inquiry, the person said that his name is Mohmmed Fazal. He and his friends Farhan and Safa, residents of Udupi, had ordered narcotic drugs and brown sugar through online and was waiting to sell the same to students of Manipal colleges and he is waiting for his friends Farhan and Safa.

Police arrested Fazal and confiscated two mobile phones, 54 banned MDMA tablets, 30 grams of brown sugar, the estimated cost of which is Rs 4,63,600, voter identity card, debit cards and intimation slip of department of post India.

A case in this regard is registered at Manipal police station.

    Fellow looks a bit immature.I think drug sellers are making use of such youngsters and the life of students too is in danger.He should be first of all treated professionally and decide later about his further punishment.

    The drugs cartels are running riots with impunity in the coastal regions of Karnataka. The state must not allow the future of student to be sacrificed as a " Quarbani " on the alters of Narcotics, by a resolutely strong lobby of peddlers !!!!
