Mangaluru, Oct 12: A C Vinayaraj, president of the legal and human rights department, district Congress committee, demanded the resignation and political retirement of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath over the Hathras rape and murder care.
Addressing media here on Monday October 12, Vinayaraj said, "Every citizen has the right to question the government. The district youth Congress president Mithun Rai has questioned Yogi Adityanath, while BJP is taking political mileage by manipulating statements. BJP which speaks about protecting Hindu women has not raised a single word in favour of Hathras rape victim. Not even the district MLAs and MPs have said a word.
"Mithun Rai questioned Yogi Adityanath over the Hathras rape and cremation of the victim in the middle of the night. Is it wrong to question Yogi Adityanath? BJP should answer this. Yogis, saints, pontiffs have a special respect, irrespective of the religion they treat everyone equally and do not have greed for power. But Yogi Adityanath delivers statements which are anti-social, which are already circulated on social media. What is BJP's stand on this? Being a Yogi, can he speak anything anti-social?" he said.
"Yogi Adityanath should learn from Basavanna, Shankaracharya, Madhwacharya and Swami Vivekananda. Questioning is the right of every citizen. If Yogi Adityanath does not want to be questioned by the people, then let him resign and take political retirement and work for the welfare of society.
"Adityanath came to power by promising jobs, maintaining law and order. According to NCRB data, Uttar Pradesh tops in crime rate. Ever since Yogi Adityanath came to power, Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a high number of mob lynching, assault, rape and murder. It has proved that Yogi Adityanath does not have faith in the judiciary. He even withdrew cases against himself after he became the chief minister," he said.
