Bengaluru, Oct 12: Veteran music director Rajan of the famous Rajan-Nagendra duo, who composed music for hundreds of Kannada, Telugu and Tamil movies, breathed his last at 11 pm on Sunday October 11 due to a heart attack. He was 87.
Rajan was at his house at TT Nagar here when he suffered heart attack and lost his life on the spot. He is survived by a son and a daughter.
Family sources said that in view of the prevailing corona situation only close ones would be allowed to have the last glimpse of the mortal remains of the famed music director.
His son, Ananth Nagendra, said that funeral will take place on Monday October 12 at the Hebbal graveyard.
Rajan was the younger among the famous Rajan - Nagendra siblings who provided music to movies. The highly talented and respected duo had won lots of laurels by providing music to films in which Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan and many other stalwarts had acted.
'Yeradu Kanasu', 'Shreenivasa Kalyana', 'Bayaludaari', 'Naa Ninna Mareyalare', 'Hombisilu', 'Gaali Maathu', 'Chalisuva Modagalu' were among 200-odd Kannada movies which had music composed by these brothers. The brothers together had provided music to over 375 Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam movies.
