Mangaluru: 36-year-old acid attack victim dies at hospital

Mangaluru, Oct 10: The 36-year-old woman who was attacked with acid by her relative, died in the hospital on Saturday October 10.

The woman identified as Konal resident Jhansi (36) was attacked by Nelyadi resident Biju (38) with acid.

Biju had attacked his wife Shaini with acid on September 24. Jhansi, Shaini's aunt was also injured in the attack. Shaini suffered burn injuries on her face and eyes. But she had survived.

Biju was arrested by the police. A case of murder is registered against him at Uppinangadi police station.

    No mercy shown to these heartless beasts
    life term in prison will teach a lesson to other perpetrators.

    And our courts also have to wake up and give justice for such cases.
    A separate tribunal must be set for handling such cases including rape and murder,
    our judicial system needs moral courage and need to catch up with other countries when it comes to dispensing justice for rapes/murders
