Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 3: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday October 4 reported 293 new cases of coronavirus and two deaths, while Udupi recorded 231 fresh cases.

As per the state health bulletin, Dakshina Kannada has so far recorded as many as 24,312 positive cases so far, out of which 5,599 are currently active.

As many as 434 people were discharged from hospitals on Sunday, taking the total discharges in the district to 18,143.

The patients who died on Sunday were a male aged 73, and an 86-year-old female. Both of them had SARI and comorbidities.

With this, the total number of deaths due to coronavirus in the district has reached 568.

Udupi

The coronavirus tally climbed to 18,020 on Sunday with 231 fresh cases reported in the district.

Out of the total positive cases, 2,145 are currently active.

As many as 59 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday. The total number of discharges so far is 15,721.

A total of 154 people have died due to coronavirus so far in the district.
