Bangalore, Apr 16: It is learnt that the state Governor, H R Bharadwaj, has asked five officials of the Raj Bhavan including his secretary, Sharada Subrahmaniam, to go on leave.
Sources revealed that the Governor has asked the state government to withdraw the services of Sharada Subrahmaniam for want of confidence in her. Since some time, rumours about a rift between the staff members of the Raj Bhavan were making the rounds. With this development, these rumours proved to be having credence. Now, a search is on for suitable staff to replace the five who have been sent on leave.
In addition to Sharada, her under secretary, a section officer, and two personal assistants have been advised to go on leave. Sources say that misunderstandings had cropped up between the ADC, Lt Navin Jacob, and Sharada Subrahmaniam of late. The Governor suspected Sharada to be having a leaning towards the BJP, sources add. Another reason that went against her was the fact that she is not from the IAS cadre.
Sharada had been posted as the secretary to the Governor, when T N Chaturvedi was the state Governor. Chaturvedi knew her, being the daughter of Subrahmaniam, who was an IAS officer of the same grade, sources added.
