Kaup: Two transporting drugs arrested; ganja, car, mobile phones seized

Kaup, Oct 3: Police personnel of Kaup station, on Friday October 2 afternoon, arrested two persons who were found to be carrying ganja reportedly for sale. They have been identified as Mohammed Ali (33), residing near LVT bus stand, Kakkunje Road, Puttur, Santhekatte, Udupi, and Sridhar (32) from Moodu Perampalli, Kunjibettu post, Udupi and Asif.

On getting information that some people who were in possession of ganja were waiting in a car near Jaihind Complex Udyavar in a car, Kaup police circle inspector Mahesh Prasad, went there with staff and found two persons inside the parked car. He summoned two witnesses and raided the spot in their presence. Upon intensive questioning, the accused revealed that they had sold ganja at Manipal and Malpe and were trying to sell the remaining stock at Udyavar. As a competent authority was needed to check the drugs on the bodies of the accused, assistant director of veterinary hospital Kaup was asked to cooperate with investigation. Both the accused were arrested and ganja weighing 1.125 kg was confiscated from the car. A weighing machine used by the accused, and a Tavera car valued at about two lac rupees, were confiscated through a process of inquest.

Two mobile phones, as well as some small ganja sachets found in the clothes worn by the accused were recovered and a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered. Further probe is in progress.

    Do you no the income of pan bidi shops hugethese are the people who spread virus to our health condition. FDA shod ban this products but helpless as politicians make huge income due to this products. Police are making money by terrorisng this shopkeepers. This products cannot be stopped until a law is enforced.

    Parents, send their children for professional courses, away from home, in hostels , are fair game to these Vultures, who hook them on to drugs, destroying their career and ruining the lives of their parents !!! This menace will never fade away, it can be only controlled by the might of our investigating agencies acting under a resolute government !!!!!
