Bengaluru, Oct 2: The number of people getting infected with Covid-19 virus is on the rise in the state. However, 97% of the infected people do not show any symptoms of the disease.
In recent cases which are reported by the Covid war room analysing centre, most of the patients do not show any symptoms of the disease. Recently, when the figures crossed 2 lac, more than 80% were asymptomatic. Now that has gone up to 97%.
Most numbers of asymptomatic cases are reported from the district of Koppala in the state. Here in 99.9% of infected people, no signs of Covid were reported. In the districts of Yadagiri, Bidar, Kodagu, Haveri, Chikkaballapur, Ballari, Chitradurga and Raichur also 98% of the infected people were asymptomatic. Compared to other districts of Karnataka, Ramanagar district reported the least number of asymptomatic cases with 86.3%.
The percentage of infection in the state is 12%. This means that out of every 100 people who are being tested, 12 are turning positive for Covid. In Orissa, the corresponding number is 34, while Telangana is reporting only two.
