Udupi, Oct 2: Udupi police successfully arrested four accused in the Kishan Hegde murder case who reportedly were absconding. Kishan Hegde was murdered in broad daylight on September 24. The criminals were arrested from Suratkal on Friday, October 2. Four police teams were formed to crack the case under the leadership of inspector Vishnuvardhan and Kumarchandra.
The police have already arrested five other persons in this case. There were two teams led by Brahmavara SI Ananthapadnabha and PSI Raghavendra C who were involved in arresting the men. The accused have been identified as Sachin Amin (37) son of Dayanand Amin, resident of Katipalla, Suratkal, Akshay Shettigar (26) son of Taranath Shettigar, resident of Katipalla Suratkal, Chetan alias Chetu (23) son of Govindacharya, resident of Thokur, Mangaluru and Sanjith Pradhan alias Shailesh (19) resident of Katipalla, Suratkal.
Out of the four men arrested, Sachin Amin is a rowdy sheeter and has criminal cases registered against him on charges of murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping and also other cases under EC that are pending.
Police also seized cars used for the murder, Swift, Ritz, Innova and 2 Pulsar bikes valued at Rs 19.5 lac. Further, they have also recovered weapons that were used in murder.
The police team members involved in operation are Brahmavara SI Ananthapadnabha, ASI Krishnappa, Pradeep Nayak, Vasudev P, Ganesh, Ravindra, driver Annappa, DCIB ASI Ravichandran, Ramu Hegde, Raghavendra and Hiriadka police team members Harish and Shivraj.
