Kasargod, Oct 2: Dr Vishwas Mehta, chief secretary of Kerala government, has taken out an order, in order to control the coronavirus pandemic as the number of infected people is rising considerably since the past one week, according to which section 144 is imposed throughout the state from October 3 to 31. Grouping together of more than five people is prohibited.
The prohibitory orders will be in place from 9 am on October 3 till October 31. Deputy Commissioners of respective districts are suggested to relax the prohibitory order after taking into account the situation of individual districts.
Marriages and funerals are exempted from this prohibitory order. However, permission is given to carry out these functions as per Covid protocol. All programmes where there will be crowd are prohibited.
In the all party meeting that was held two days ago, it was decided to prohibit all programmes including protests. Accordingly, the government has taken out this order. The number of coronavirus infected people has shot up to 8,000 daily. In Kasargod district, the number has gone up to 500 everyday.
As the number of infected people is increasing uncontrollably from the past 20 days, the government has tightened the lockdown rules.
