Brahmavar, Oct 1: Thanush (12), a seventh standard student and son of Kavitha (29), wife of Umesh, resident of Kajralli Janatha Coloy in Shiriyara village in the taluk, committed suicide by making use of a sari that had been hung from the roof beam in the form of cradle on Wednesday September 30.

Thanush was lagging behind in his studies, did not heed to the advice of parents and others, and was stubborn in his behaviour, it is said.

On Wednesday morning, Kavitha had left her home to work outside at 9 am, leaving her son at home as he had to attend online classes. Before leaving, she had advised Thanush to give attention to his studies. Thanush, either because of his stubborn nature or because of the frustration at his inability to study well, hanged himself. The mother feels that Thanush would have hanged himself between 10 am and 1 pm on Wednesday.

Personnel of Kota police station visited the spot and registered the case under section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code.

    Very sad.Children at home like this boy was am sure frustrated,not because he didnt want to study,but him was the company of other campanions was missing.Children want to keep moving and that is important for their mind and body health.Not medicines.Children you will find happy who are on road side playing than some sofisticated ones in flats.Parents must have not understood his situation of being alone at home.Many children are at present very much frustrated,so parents please keep an eye on your child being alone .Sure parents too cant help since they have to work.Heartfelt sympathy to the family.Boy must have thought it is a play and got stuck in it.May his soul rest in peace.

    This virus is destroying human life physically and mentally. For how long growing children can stay at home due to this virus? Children should be accommodated in schools advising proper manners for avoiding this disease. Many countries have re-opened schools despite the spread of the disease.

    Online classes might keep students away from corona but parents at home can create different problems. starting schools and colleges is the only solution.

    Most of the parents compare their children to others who comes first or second in the school.

    They will tell their children - Look how your friend is coming first in the school or getting good marks in all the subjects ? what's wrong with you ?
    Child will not only have hatred feelings against that boy whom he was compared to but he will hate himself & gets frustrated day by day. All do not have the same IQ & grasping power. 

    School Management / Parents & Govt. need to come together & take out unwanted syllabus which neither helps in day to day life  nor helps in getting a Job.
    If only for some children who are too smart and grasp the lesson quickly let them take additional subjects as they require.

    May the departed soul of the student rest in peace... Condolences to his bereaved family... Joel, Why parents will create problems to their children? Here the parents were going to work. Before going she advised her son to concentrate on studies like every other parents do! Don't blame the parents. Even if children go to school.. Why parents won't shout/advice/put for tuitions when the performance is bad? If they go to school and results are bad any parent will keep quiet? Teachers at school and parents at home should not correct the children?? Is it wrong? Why parents are meant only to work like a donkey and fulfil the needs and not to advice when they go astray? In the school too, teachers also advice if the students are performing bad... that means teachers create problems so student should sit at home?? We can speak anyhow...
