Mangaluru, Sep 26: The officials took up the process of penalising people found not wearing masks in public places again on Saturday September 26. On Friday, the city corporation health department officials had collected Rs 5,000 as fine from people violating the COVID 19 guidelines.

Mangaluru City Corporation health officer Dr Manjayya Shetty, and other officials along with traffic police were seen stopping the passersby and vehicle drivers found not wearing masks.

It may be recalled that on Thursday, deputy commissioner of the district, Dr Rajendra K V, had stressed the need to scrupulously follow all the rules like using sanitisers, wearing masks, maintaining social distance etc. It has been felt that the coronavirus cases have not been showing a declining trend because of the negligence of the people to follow these norms, even after the officials undertook active campaigning and educated the people about the need to strictly abide by the rules. People not following rules not only risk themselves, but also pose to others including their family members the risk of getting infected.

As there is no medicine and proper medicine is mask social distance and was and face sheet temporary measures to save self and save others.it is the duty of authority in all private public places where people gather and all offices including government office and levy heavy penalty individual head of organization and institutions.the money collected is to be used for distribution of maks to poor
People must be properly educated to use proper masks and other conditions specially to downtrodden people because of the ignorance misguided things people is not to be punished

I fail to see the point in stopping two-wheelers and fining the rider for not wearing a mask in the open.
If they really want to contain the spread of corona, they should go to the public places which are ENCLOSED SPACES or CROWDED where actual transmission of corona can occur, like the market, grocery stores or the mall.

Very good... Though it's late but, a Very good step by our Officials. I agree with the comment of Mr. Kamath, Mangaluru. If people think, officials eat money, then wear mask and come out and maintain distance. In spite of giving repeated warnings right from before lock down, we are taking the requests for granted... and don't want lock down as well as economy should not fall. Throwing the warnings/requests into the air and negligent towards their responsibilities...Increase the fine.....Controlling the pandemic every citizen's duty and not just the government's...

Apart from this , the social distancing violators in public places too must be booked. The proposal
to delicence the shops after three warning should be strictly enforced.

Citizens are habitually flouting rules and regulations.. Vechile's owners are the prime culprits !! To make it mire more effective, a Simple Imprisonment for seven days, will instill fear in the minds of these violators !!!!

More stringent actions too can be initiated. But the fine imposers and fine collectors must be given color of uniform so they look different from general public. At least a coat like, doctors and lawyers wear is better.

A Wrong Move of fleecing the public after lock down & job loss.
The police or any officers should get educated themselves first about scientific studies that have shown how they cause health problems in those who wear them than preventing any infections.
In western countries kids below 11 , people with COPD & Asthma have been exempted from wearing masks as they cause more harm than benefits.
Secondly the whole exercise itself was based on wrong calculation of mortality rate & deaths which now prove to be wrong & this infection is just like influenza with same casualties. The Pandemic status itself is proven time & again to be wrong.
Time to return to our old normal as more than 50% of people have had the infection as antibody tests have proven & no need to enforce these measures which lack scientific proof.

Ignorance is bliss for some who think those who expose the same as idiots.
Just keep your intelligence for yourself, more & more doctors & experts in the field are exposing the collusion of WHO, Gates along with China in creating this hoax.
Just get the data from last few years to prove your point that death rate has surpassed them this year, then come & show your ignorance.

It is never too late. Officials should have taken this step much before to fine people for not wearing masks should have been strictly imposed due to this Covid-19 which has claimed many lives all over the world. As we all know this is a deadly disease and prevention is the best medicine as so far there is no cure. Please follow the protocol of the health department and save lives.
