Puttur, Sep 23: Police chased and arrested one person, who was trying to sell ganja with his accomplice on a two-wheeler on Naitadi-Bedrala Bhagat Singh road in Kemminge village of the taluk. However, accomplice of the arrested person managed to escape from the spot.
The arrested accused is identified as Sazil Ahmed (24), a resident of Narimogaru village. It is learnt that the person who escaped from the spot is Mohammed Ashraf, a resident of Kemminje village of the taluk.
When the police inspected the two-wheeler that belonged to the arrested accused, they found 166 grams of ganja worth Rs 3,000. Police confiscated the scooter, the value of which is around Rs 40,000 and a mobile phone worth Rs 12,000.
A case in this connection is registered at Puttur city police station.
