Byndoor, Sep 22: An object which resembled a missile was found on the Kalihitlu seashore here on Tuesday.

The strange object that was found is said to be about 10 feet long.

On discovering it, the people informed the local coast guard, who reached the spot and took the object into their custody.

Talking on the situation, coastal security police SP Chetan said, "The object must have washed up on the shore. It looks like a ship's compass, generally such instruments are deployed near the port as it helps the ships reach the port. A verification in this matter is underway. We have contacted Goa shipyard, the navy and other concerned departments. We are yet to receive any information from them in this matter."

It looks like a simple tank or pressure vessel with conical bottom. Unnecessarily people are made to panic. Because it is sealed and there may be air inside, the object has been floating. Swept away to shore by tides. Either it is intentionally thrown into water or has fallen off a vessel or ship.

Your assessment appears more appropriate. It appears like a marine cement silo. Such silos can be used for underwater concealment of missiles; I may be wrong. But surely it appears like a silo
