Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 22: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, September 22 recorded 211 new cases and four deaths, while Udupi reported 106 cases and zero deaths.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 20,578 positive cases have been reported to date, out of which 4,369 are currently active. A total of 1,41,523 samples have been tested so far, out of which 1,20,945 reported negative.
As many as 15,714 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital, including 209 on Tuesday. A total of 494 deaths have occurred so far, including four on Tuesday.
Among the 211 new cases, 61 are primary contacts, 94 have influenza-like illness (ILI), 12 have been diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI), and 44 cases are under investigation. As many as 99 out of the 211 are asymptomatic. Among them, as many as 111 are from Mangaluru, 43 from Bantwal, 17 from Puttur, one from Sullia, 19 from Beltangady and 20 are from outside DK district.
Of all the four deaths reported on Tuesday, two are from Mangaluru, one from Bantwal and one from outside the district. All the deceased had comorbidities.
Udupi
As per the state health bulletin, Udupi reported 106 fresh coronavirus cases on Tuesday.
There were zero discharges reported on Tuesday. Meanwhile the total discharges in the district recorded were 13,978.
As many as 15,738 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 106 on Tuesday, and 1617 cases are currently active. As per the state bulletin, 143 deaths have occurred so far in the district.
