After fake certificate by applicant, Kuwait tightens rules for Indian engineers

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi (SP)

New Delhi, Sep 16: The Kuwait government has now made the rules stricter for non-resident engineers of Indian origin planning to work there. The norms have been tightened on account of mischief played by someone.

A marks card submitted by an Indian engineer to bag employment in Kuwait just before the lockdown was found to be forged. The Kuwait government which was alerted, made rules stricter for all the Indian engineers at the time of visa renewals.

As per the new rules, the engineers have to pool all the marks cards for all the semesters, and submit certified copies to Kuwait Society of Engineeers. After the society issues no objection certificate, the engineers will be allowed to work as engineers in Kuwait.

The problem is many do not have marks cards of all the years and it is not easy to put them togther afresh, get them certified, and submit the same. Till such verification process is completed, the visas of engineers are not renewed and they will remain on temporary visas. Those on temporary visas cannot get their rental agreements renewed, working in company will be harder, and getting a driving licence is not possible. Many affected engineers say that if they visit their homeland during the temporary visa period, they might not be able to return to Kuwait.

About 4,000 Indian engineers have written a letter to the Indian embassy office on Tuesday September 15 through the Indian Engineers Forum, seeking to intervene and sort out the problem. Former vice-president of NRI Indians Forum Karnataka, Dr Arathi Krishna, said she has spoken to the officials of Indian embassy about the problem. She said that the Indian ministry of foreign affairs will have to intervene in the matter.

    What is there in certificate?
As long as the interview goes well, job should be offered...
If the person works hard and loyal, the employment should be continued...

    Certificate is good for nothing.....

If similar educational qualifications - verification process is implemented for all ministerial positions and Govt employees or MLA /MP in India. wondering who would be our Minister and politician in position. Indians are corrupt in all and everything we do. ( Not all but 90%) . I would challenge if any lawyer or Police is free from Corruption or bribe money

Verification of certificates has been happening for Doctors/Nurses in Middle East countries since many years. Why are other professions exempt? Forging would be easy if there are no checks!

Most of Engineers who entered gulf countries in early 90s and 80s were all diploma holders, mostly fake ones. But they were successful in getting into big oilfied companies and reached top posts.
As far as I am concerned, an authentic degree certificate doesn't make you a good engineer, but intelligence and experience and a hunger for knowledge makes you one.

If the Kuwaiti administration understands this, they will have good engineers. Otherwise they will be filled with bookworm geniuses, who will fail miserably on field.

It looks like due to corruption in everything we do, our entire system of education and administration is gone to gutter standards now and this is the reason why we have lost respect for our educational qualifications in foreign countries. There was a time when Indians used to get first preference in highly skilled jobs in the middle east countries.

Very much regret to say that, Indian education standard is gone to Dogs. Education has become a corporate business , selling degrees is rampant business, which is good for nothing. I have gone through engineer who can not speak a single sentence in English. this is mainly because degrees before bargaining tools for Dowry and going to college is to get more Dowry in the South Indian marriages. there is more than thousands of college's came into existence from last 20-25years, some are deemed universities and some are Autonomous universities and some are associated to with Foreign University, they are selling degrees in their won terms and government is have not control. They are producing useless engineers and wasting parents money and government resources, where lecturers making money by taking bribe from the students for good marks, college are running very low paid staff with no experience and senior students teaching junior students, this has to stop and government has to take the responsibility of the Education, which is vital social tool which is setting the standard of any country, if governments give such vital arm the society to hungry business people , politician to make money as spinning business, then one day india will become Educated masses with no education.

This is very alarming issue, every person looking for good and raising and successful India has to raise the issue seriously.

fake education / fake certificate / fake degrees(many doctorates) are common in India.... top to bottom...

"Fake in India" syndrome... many countries insist on Indian doctors passing additional exams before they can work as doctors in these countries... many colleges sell /auction the seats which is purchased by money bags for their children... it is easy to guess whether these "money seat" candidates can pass very demanding medical studies... probably degree also may be sold to these persons... otherwise can they pass out as doctors...

In such case more than half of Egyptian professionals in Kuwait will have to be deported. The rules were made stricter because of these people, now Indians too will have to bear the brunt.

If similar educational qualifications (as mentioned in the electoral affidavit) - verification process is implemented for ministerial positions in India, can't help wondering where would some of the leaders be today.
